Why Every Parent Needs Portraits of Their Child Preparing for Baptism

My oldest daughter turned eight and was baptized a week after my dad’s funeral. It was a bit of a whirl wind of stress, sadness, and melancholy, mixed with excitement. I wanted Josephine to remember her baptism fondly and remember all the people that were able to support her on this special occasion.

Life’s schedule was a bit unpredictable during the month leading up to my daughter’s baptism, but I knew I wanted to photograph her for her big day and have visual memories that I could share with family members that might not be able to attend.

Important Milestone

Being baptized is a special time and it’s a significant commitment your child is making! Documenting this momentous occasion by bringing your child into the studio is a wonderful way to commemorate this event!

Make them Feel Special

Turning 8 is such a great age! Kids are so funny and their interests are so unique and fascinating at this stage. This is a great time to shine some special light on your child and help them realize they are so important—just mom, dad, and your kiddo at the studio! They will feel so grown up dressed in their best outfits!

Let’s Photograph them Ahead of Time

I like to get you and your child in the studio before their baptism so you have the option of using a photograph on an announcement. Also, when you order prints or albums, they can be displayed at the actual baptism! Family members are going to love flipping through these albums and photographs and seeing photographs celebrating such a special time.
